PS3 v.s. Wii (and apology)

Im sorry to all the people who are annoyed that I havent posted in awhile, but I am a 12-year old kid with a life that is probably busier than most non-working adults (seriously).

Anyway, my post......

For christmas this year, we got a PS3, (PlayStation 3 for the adults (but hopefully not kids....) who have no clue what a PS3 is) and it has many ups, and a few downs. Another thing we were considering was a Wii, which also has ups and downs, I will show you a comparison.

PS3 Ups:
Plays DVD's and Blu-Ray Disks
Has extremely good graphics
has interactive opening screen and options
has wireless controllers
has backwards compatibilty with PS1 games
can use internet

PS3 Downs:
gamplay is not interactive
only has backwards compatibility with some PS2 games
costs $600

Wii Ups:
Has good graphics (not nearly as good as PS3 though)
Has very fun games
Has Interactive opening screen and options
Has interactive gameplay
Only costs $250
Has Mii's
Has backwards compatibility with GameCube games

Wii Downs:
cant go on internet
cant play DVD's or Blu-Ray Disks
games are sometimes very hard to play because of Wii Remote

So, as you can see, PS3 has 6 ups and 3 down, and Wii has 7 ups (lol) and 4 downs
Which is better? you decide.

General Conference

Today is general conference day, and I like it for alot of reasons, First and foremost, we get to listen to the GA's and the prophet talk and that is always very spiritualy uplifting, secondly my mom dosen't like it when she has to listen so we usually go somewhere to watch in on the BYU chanel, which is always fun, and third, I can sleep in because I don't have to get up and "get ready" for conference. Anyway, all in all conference is a great day.

Geneology Merit Badge... Fun or Fruitless?

10/6/07 : None

Today I was going to get the Geneology Merit Badge from a workshop at the central library at 10:30. I was expecting a merit badge where we just sit a listen to somebody for 3 hours, but I soon was proven wrong. A guy talked for 25 min. and then we got 1 on 1 with a counsler. We learned alot, filled out a few family trees, and got on a real geneology computer to look a bunch of people up, it was all in all fun and very productive, not usually do you get a merit badge that fast and have that much fun doing it.

Friday Night Adventure....

10/6/07 : Monkey in the Middle

WARNING: THIS IS A LONG DETAILED POST, FOR THE SHORT, SWEET AND SIMPLE VERSION VISIT 'www.nielsen5.blogspot.com'!!!

D= Dad M= Mom H=Me

On Friday night, I was peacefully enjoying something (cant remeber what, i just know i was enjoying it) when I hear my dad calling me and S.

S: Time for scriptures and prayer
H: what, it is only like 6:30 on a friday night!?!
S: I think thats what it is, i dunno.
H: uhhhh, ok.

We went in my parents room.

D: where is K?
S & H: I dunno.
D: find him.
H: ok.

*we start looking and calling his name*

H: k?
S: k!!!
H:K??!!??
S: K, WHERE ARE YOOOOUUUUU????!!!????

after a minute or so of calling him, we decide he obviously wasnt in the house.

H: check the backyard.
...
S: not there!

H:hmmmm

we went out in the front yard and sure enough, there he was waving a stick around
and making battle noises.

S: WOAH, WHERE DID YOU GET THAT COOL STICK!?!
K: i found it.
S:....
H: come on guys dad needs us.

D: mom wants to do something as a family tonight.
H: cool, where should we go?
H: oh we can go to that baylor game room place!
K: No! Baylor Pool!
M: No, I don't want to go swimming.
S: Yeah, Baylor Pool!
D: Mom said no.
S & K: awwww!
H: Kye, lets go to that place where we play pool and fooseball and shuffleboard.
K: uhhhh
S: what place? what is fooseball?
H: 'member, fooseball is that soccer game thing with the people on the sticks.
S: oh--
K: YEAH! lets go there!
S: Yeah!
H: we need to go out to eat too, we should have fast food, since we are already spending money for the game room.
S: McDonalds!!
K: Burger King!
M: not mcdonalds

S: awww, BK then!

M leaves to kitchen

Dad was worried there would be a bunch of college kids at the game room, so he decided to call.

D: we cant go to the cave (game room).
K & S: awww

We eventually decided on Bush's Chicken, and K wanted Ice Cream from BC after the meal, but it was to expensive so we went to HEB to get Ice Cream there (which we didn't get to eat that night).

On the way home we were going to play a 4 player video game for our activity instead of the cave, but K & S said they wanted to play football, so we did. We started out with a version of 'Monkey in the Middle' where my Dad would sit on the couch and try and throw it to the 2 people who weren't the monkey, and the monkey would try to intercept it.
Then we played this brutal (but fun) game where my dad would throw it somewhere and you had to get it and run back and hand it to him. The 2 people who didn't have it would try it get it.... whatever it took. Yeah, you can imagine that... My mom got it on camera and if i can i will try and upload it.

Well, hope i didnt bore you too much, but thats what we did on friday.

Intro 2

ok, I personally think edited posts is stupid, so looking at my blog 15 seconds after my first post, I realized there were so big things missing. I will talk about my format. First I will have the day(s) that the event occured, then I will have (if any) the title of the event in the Nielsen Five Blog, so if me and my mom write about the same thing, people will be able to corrospond the two and get a better picture of what actually happend.
Another thing is I will start my first post with the 'Monkey in the Middle' Story, and work my way down from there.

Introduction

Well, for a time I posted comments on my mom's blog, Nielsen Five, but there were some big downs to that. One, I could only write about the things my mom wrote about and two, now I can make my blog however I want it to be, so anyway this will have post about things our family did, my thoughts on different subject and then whatever the heck else I want to write about.
